Families Day 2006

Although affected by barriers and people, photographs on the Families Day Saturday itself were still possible with patience.   Several aircraft were present which were unable to attend the Photocall the next day and these are pictured below in the bright  sunshine.

Arrivals on the Families day began with Falcon 20 G-FRAF
of FR Aviation which stayed until mid afternoon 
Royal Navy Jetstream T.3 ZE438 arrived Saturday morning
for static display, also departing mid-afternoon
Chinook HC.1 ZA708 performed a spirited display and is pictured here departing back home to Odiham
Bell Jet Ranger G-BZEE performed pleasure
flight duties all afternoon
Army Air Historical Flight Beaver XP820 visited 
mid afternoon for a couple of hours
Spitfire PM631 of the Bob Memorial flight performed
some flypasts before landing
Having arrived the day before, Squirrel HT.1 ZJ278/78
of DHFS was parked until mid afternoon when it
departed back home to Shawbury.
Although present throughout the weekend, the sun
on Basset XS743 was better on the Saturday 
afternoon so I'm including it here! 
Similarly, Tornado GR.4 ZA551/AX is included here
lastly, Tornado GR.4  ZA447/DE basks in the Saturday sun

  • Rolls Royce Spitfire PS853/G-RRGN performed a display over the airfield just before midday, but did not land.
  • Met Police AS355F Twin Squirrel G-SEPB also visited on a couple of occasions.
  •  Irish Learjet 45  258 arrived early evening for display in the photocall the next day.
