Over the weekend of 9th and 10th of June 2006,  RAF Northolt was the venue not only for the annual Families Day, but for its first Photocall.  The Photocall event was designed to allow aircraft enthusiasts a rare opportunity to photograph a wide selection of aircraft types, with little clutter to get in the way, at an airfield where they have rarely had access, all for a charitable donation.

Organised by Phil Dawe and his team  with event publicity and booking gladly provided by this web site, the event was luckily blessed by sunny weather conditions throughout.  Much effort was put in to the event by an enthusiastic military staff at RAF Northolt, who included the Station Commander, the Community Relations Officer,  Officer Commanding Operations Wing,  Senior Air Traffic Control Officer,  Senior Air Movements Officer, Officer Commanding Security and all their teams, without whom the event would not have been possible.  Marshalling and associated tasks were provided by SERCO and refuelling by Air BP.

The Sunday saw over 350 photographers, enthusiasts and interested parties attend and I'm sure they all will wish to join me in congratulating and thanking everyone who worked hard to make the event such a success, so much so that a date was almost immediately set for the next event which will hopefully provide an even wider selection of aircraft.

*** A Charity CD featuring many quality photographs of the aircraft at the photocall is available for a price of £6.00.   Details via the link (above left) ***
