Many people with an interest in aviation will be aware of the United States military aircraft storage facility near Tucson, Arizona.  'AMARC' (pronounced a-mark), the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center currently holds over four thousand aircraft and forms part of the active Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

Following on from the respected reference books ‘MASDC’ (published in 1983) and ‘MASDC II AMARC’ (published in 1998), the third in the series, ‘AMARC (MASDC III)’ details all aircraft movements at the Aerospace Maintenance And Regeneration Center, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona, from January 1997 to December 2005.

Over 7000 individual aircraft are listed in the book’s 240 pages with 300 full colour photographs to illustrate most of the types in storage.  Compiled by Martyn Swann, Danny Bonny and Barry Fryer, “AMARC (MASDC III)” is now available for purchase here.

Each aircraft listed includes its inventory number, serial, code/unit markings, arrival date, departure date and disposal details.

A detailed description of the facility (with maps) and an explanation of the tasks involved in processing the aircraft during their stay at AMARC is also included. Most aircraft types are

illustrated with colour photographs.  Two sample pages are provided  below in .pdf format.
